They are smallest ship class in World of Warships Blitz. They are also known as DD in short. Speed and Maneuverability are their main characteristics, but their weaknesses are their light armour and short quantity of main guns.
Destroyers are best used in a hit and run stratergy, where they excel with their high damaging torpedoes and excellent maneuverability. Their speed also allows them to intercept other destroyers and to bolster anti-air defenses in a different sector.
A good destroyer commander has to know that destroyers are outgunned at very long ranges and outarmored, and they have to make up with speed, maneuverability and with their powerful torpedoes.
US destroyers focus mainly on guns, but they are still lacking in DD characteristics when compared to other ship types. Most low-tier ships are best used in hit-and-run raids on battleships or aircraft carriers. Speed is comparable to IJN destroyers, though their torpedoes are overpowered by IJN and outnumbered by USSR's. Bad detection and sighting ranges, torps are low damage and range.

Usually regarded as one of the best destroyer lines, Japanese destroyers have great torpedo damage, speed, and range. Their guns aren't as good as the American line's, though HE shells have a good chance of fire. Concealment is the best, but the range is lacking. Their high speeds are comparable to the USN destroyers'.

Soviet DD's have a lot of torpedoes in the low tiers, though they deal very low damage compared to IJN and USN ships. Decent guns, low HP and armor. Speed is also fairly slow compared to other ships of the same class. Concealment is very high, at a cost for range of torpedoes.
