It is best to play her in a passive manner for the first few minutes of the game, either as an escort for your heavy ships or as a lone wolf holding down a flank for as long as possible. While she can use HE ammo, AP is still generally better unless dealing with tough armoring. Try to keep at least 1 Smoke charge for the final minutes of the game, if the game is expected to last for full duration. While you can form your own cover with Smoke you should also use islands and positioning to the best of your ability.

This ship is also highly proficient at dominating caps, again due to her method of long-lasting Smoke and detection skills, combined with repetitive damage outputs, especially with another teammate in play.

Due her 3 charges of long lasting smoke with little downtime in between, the ship is capable of standing its ground on a capture area or flank for extended periods of time. Its consistent damaging guns may also force contesters to retreat from the area, securing it for good.
